It all started when...
I didn't know what to buy my partner Victor for Christmas. He has everything and even more so can buy anything that he needs to.
After racking my brains I knew we both loved walking and the countryside, he loves music and war history and he is really close to his sister who was living in Madrid, and his mum who comes from Argentina. I knew we were also guilty of saying to each other 'we'll do that one day' but never getting round to it.
From this I devised twelve things for us to do, one thing each month over the course of the next year. I made twelve little boxes and wrote out cards in each of them to describe what we would do each month.
We had so much fun over the twelve months and both looked forward to each experience as it arose. It made us do things that we would otherwise have put off or never got round to, and it was beneficial for me because I could pay for things as we went along. I did some expensive things and some not so expensive things to keep it balanced.
The ethos of the idea was so important to me because I don't like being wasteful, and never more so than with buying gifts at Christmas for the sake of buying gifts. Victor’s Box of Twelve as it came to be known created an opportunity for us to spend quality time together and share experiences.
And so Box of Twelve was born. I hope you love it as much as we do.
